Southern Nevada Outdoor Grow 2014....Cannabis & Heat...

Recommended Posts

a modest change to the surface. Straw. I have heard a few different takes on this but the main thing is the plants love it....

It is kind of like concentrates in that aspect....my feeling is if the cannabis likes it, i like it...i would sure appreciate input but all in all,

these girls are growing ...the industry is so crazy right now, fuck...maybe underground was better. at least you knew the odds, not now...these fuckers are eating their young. peace..

Ok, no pics just a massive trim,  I removed a lot of vegetative growth and cleaned up the lower branches, a few issues, i found a few spider mites during the trim out, a few grass hoppers and i have a couple branches with a white mildew,  suggestions for a multi insecticide fix or is there any one solution i can use?

well for the grasshoper i dont have in mind a good name sorry, for other small insects like spider mites, the best would be lady bugs it might at the same time attract some birds that should like the grasshoper as well ;)

good luck man

I don't know if it is right or wrong but it is something i have to do, at 5 foot tall i will be topping and start pulling down branches, i have a height max of 6'3". i wasn't expecting to have to do this until mid or late july. the acapulco gold is a christmas tree and i am dreading topping it.....I think i am lacking in something a couple plants had a curl to some leaves. used a peroxide tea on the spider mites, i hope it works, i do not want to beef up on insecticides if possible....ants are gaining ground...i have dogs and do not like leaving ant bait out so if any one has a creative dog safe remedy for ant repellant please throw it at me!!  thank you mother earth and father sun and strain hunters friends.

OK it is dam hot! I really am hating being underfunded....the 8 plants in the 7 gallon smart pots should be in at least 45 gallon pots. actually if i was holding true to my plan about half of them would be indoors flowering. anyway at around 9 this evening the girls will be perky again....by the way, it is 111 degrees right now...the low will come down to 85-90 degrees humidity is in the area of 10 and water temp from the well is 71 degrees....a couple questions if anyone  reading this knows what causes a seemingly normal leaf system to go to 3 fingers on the leaf only? i am miffed! is it a deficiency?

also, temp is going up a couple more degrees for a few days!!! lol Peace...

Hi mate,

Thanks for sharing, they look great and beautiful.

Yes, those leaves are drooping. It is possible a fungus in the root? are usually so for lack of water, when it is not for lack of water ... is for a more serious problem, look at the roots are such that, if you see something strange, riege with a natural fungicide.

It may also be that some worms this breaking roots, examine.

Do not know if this works with ants home remedy for slugs is a good choice, it is to put a circle of coffee grounds around the plant ... that makes slugs do not pass (but I've never tried ant ).

Good luck with that plant  :sungum:

jose, I think it is lack of water, first grow using smart pots and it is a little different.  and they are way under sized....even the 45 gallon pots are starting to look to small...

i have been spraying the dirt with soap water and it helps a lot with the ants. the next 60 days will be interesting. peace

yeah for sure the smart pots in outdoor and in hot condition are not the best they dry out too fast ^^ Or you could maybe strat thinking of a kind of droping system ? You could pretty easily make something nice to give them water more often with a timer and a gardening water tube :)

another 105+ today.  All they want is good clean water.  july and august are going to be a challenge. so many smell in the garden.  here is what you are seeing.

9 kaya gold....same seed group but it  seems like 3 different scents and hopefully 3 different tastes.

1 acapulco gold my freien gave me the seed. long thin fingers and a sweet delicate smell, weak branches...

1 Black Afgany i believe it is a clone start this plant is very competitive it is doing very good with the heat and wants to grow and catch up with the rest of the garden...i realize it may be a bit risky but, i am moving this plant into a 45 gallon smart pot. all in all a good grow week...peace

i put myself on front street this year, in a big way and a lot of people know that i am growing. I knew this going into it. my hope is that the open & notorious approach will pay off, kinda catch people off guard. Of greater concern to me is, we have more than our share of tweekers here,  They keep everyone on their toes! This grow is about  more than the potential poundage, it represents what my life has come down to or culminated into.  A garden, i don't think it is socially acceptable that i am ok with this but, cannabis has a way of bringing the human out in me. I can't even imagine doing something non cannabis related now....i hope that isn't why i am unemployed...lol, guess i better roll a fatty and think about it.

peace
