FIM
Nice grow and I hope you enjoy harvest time Did you pull out any fan leaves to let more air around the bud from say week 5 on and later ? During the last 14 days I usually strip the rest from what is left after lollipopping off the plant and only leave a few selected fan leaves on them that fit the canopy. I must admit, the first time I did that I did not know if that was good or bad but it turned out good for bud development, prevent mold & fungus in the last week(s) as much as possible and last but not least, the final cleaning makes it a lot easier to harvest, half of the work has been done the days before. Ever since, indoors, I lollipop them as early as possible to funnel the power for the upper ⅓ of the plant and take fan leaves out when density of fioliage need it at any stage and definitely in the last 3 weeks before harvest. ⅔ of the plants are naked "underneath", only the upper1/3 stays with buds and fioliage. You also avoid smaller buds lower down which are a pain to harvest but instead have fewer but bigger ones "upstairs".

FIM
Nice !!! At which color of the trichomes will you harvest this strain ? Some good amber to turbo the "kush" ? I recently assisted a friend in a grow and to estimate harvest time by looking at the trichomes, which he never did before. He then decided to NOT let them go a few days more, based on the color of the trichomes rather than pistil's color and or other characteristics.Taking the nature of the strain, Jack Here & Ruderalis = Auto Jack into account, he did not want them too much amber, just some if at all. Well, those few amber ones...I can tell you... I like my couch a lot Very potent stuff but very wild genetics too.... SO what color do you aim for ? How many days before do you flush and let them breath etc... I think those last 14 days are very critical and many thingsmust be done on a floating time table as phenoes differ in ripeness or even more complicated you dont know how much longer they need to go as it may be the first timeone grows that strain, that scenarios is always repeating as we all try out new seeds. So my question, how do you approach that "last 14 day" sequence. Your grow looks nice, that's why I ask you. I want to hear how other people do it successfully. We all learn from each other, you may be the teacher in the morning and the pupil in the afternoon...it basically never stops. peace & nice grow
FIM
Basically, to get back to your pics, I would wait until the leaves show some real deficiencies, which will occur not sooner that 5-7 days after the final flushing down to the EC of your tab water. I usually say 7-10 days is ok, if the strain is a bit slower, 14 days after flushing may be the upper limit for starving them. The Auto Jacks from post above were cut 8 days after a brutal flushing down to EC 0.2 and flushed again mid between those 8 days, harvested bone dry, 40°C on that day, that is 102°F I think. Despite it dried in 60h and is boxed since it really tastes nice, no salt left overs in the bud. That is the catch here, the problem to match the end of the flush-breath-water-breath-water-breath-dry-CUT sequence with the color of the trichomes. If you know the strain it is easy for good growers with a calendar. For any new strain and different developing phenoes one has to, I say, "nose" to say when which one ladywill undergo the tub torture with 60-100L water per 16L pot and which one may go another 3 days until watering has to be done again. It is based on the size of your pots in relation to your plants size and hunger. If the pots are fairly large and temps are low you may have to go 4-5 days from wet to dry again. With small 12L pots, or even 8L,and a hot week like we had in the 40C/100F all week, you may only go ONE day on one watering, two if you are lucky with small plants. Big pots mean less work but largerintervals whereas smaller pots mean far more work but a faster pace in the watering cycle. Which one is better, I dunno, I have done both with success and try to avoud theextremes on either end. neither should you have a 8L pot for a topped plant, nor should you have a 60L soil pot for a plant that will never get taller than 2 feet overall remainsa small cannabis pheno. The right sized pot for the plant's size ( 20-30L in our case ) will give you 2-4 days intervals, not too short, not too long to time harvest to match color of trichomes and having a dry plant at the very same day. Agree, you dont need to time that exactly to harvest a nice stash, I am trying to go the last 10% of what the genes can deliver. We dont fear hard work and we dont fear to give in when we did it not so good, we can and must do better as we advance as it would be a shame not to aim high and for the better so we all gain some more percentage of what can be achieved. Pi2
Hi,Thanks for nice info...The plan Week 4 of flowering -I start to cut down lowest branches A1+A2 snd B1+B2Keep EC= 1.4-1.6 Week 6 (14 days before harvest) I just water plants with NO fertz. EC=plain water. ( I use always 16L pots) best for me...I have try smaller pots and they good for someone else...(no more)I don't flush my ladys anymore under the shower or hose...just water....4-5 days dry.... water...dry.....water...When she STOP growing in flowering period and Fan leaves turns yellow just buds swell slowly (week 7 or 8th I remove big fan leaves and keep her for another few days to bone dry...but before I have done any sort of that I needs to be sure the trichomes of the plant are READY milky and ready to go...if they clear I 'll leave plant untouched.I just strip fan leaves for better taste of weed....more sweet I think...48H DARKNESS before chop chop...to harvest in darkness and let's all sugars, water go down to roots(no leaves so not much storage)=smooth smoke. After chop...I dry her for 5 days in the darkness at 18-20C. Then Glass Jars and Enjoy!few words about "AUTO"...I have grow auto strains for 2 years continuously and they diffrent story of grow...FUNNY Grow...good for someone else.(no more)Keep Growing.... FIM
I see how you do it, experience is the best guide. Still, I would flush them. Whenever I put the EC meter in the drainage water and read EC 3.x I again now why haha.If you use PF, or any other Salt based fertilizer, I really would flush them. Do the test:take the leftover pot, lady already cut off, and water it, flush it, read the values.... if you "always" read 0.x EC ( your tab water + .1 or .2 ) from the first liter all the way to say liter # 40 or 50 then you are right but I think that after about 20-30L your EC meter will start RAPIDLY climbing to its max value and THEN slowly falling down with each 10L can your pour in. I let my pals smoke some non-flushed weed, extra done that way, so they know how it tastes, then we smoked properly flushed weed, very fresh but no bad site taste. My skin really pays me back if I smoke "salted" weed, not so nice, with properly flushed weed its all OK. Yes, I know, it really is a pain flushing 20+ Ladies in 16L soil pots, YES, DAMN, it takes HOURS and HOURS.... but the reward is excellent weed..and a nice water bill HAHA
