The next expedition without a doubt should be South Africa, In fact it should have been the first. Yes we all know of Durban Poison , a fantastic Sativa plant which naturally occurs all over the province of Natal. This Sativa is the working mans weed, with workers all over the country using this as their daily medicine to get them through the grind of the day. It allows you to be high and relaxed but not impairing your ability to work, Freely available in varying quality in almost every corner of the province all you have to do is ask and you will be pointed in the right direction. Cost is sometimes as little as $ 0.2 a gram. Grown in the more rural areas, which are not too far out from the city. Breathtaking views and and amazing culture. Durban is a friendly city and the rural people will welcome you with big smiles. Thats just one strain! Further south in the Eastern Cape province there are the mpondo tribes people who grow their local weed known as pondo, an entirely different strain all together. Also in the Eastern Cape is the largest old apartheid homeland called the Transkei (across the Kei river), This entire area is known for its beautiful scenery, fishing, diving, and coastlines. And most of all a culture rich in marijuana growing. There are many large scale grows in this area, most of which are done by the local people as they always have using the strains they always have! Easy to find too! The list goes on and each of the 9 provinces has their own strains and culture, South Africa has 12 official languages each belonging to a different ethnic group and each ethnic group occuring in a different province. You can imagine the diverse culture you will encounter along an expedition in to such a place and not to mention the various climates, from the karoo desert, to the dry veld in the North and the tropical climate in Natal. The potential for landraces in South Africa is astounding and it definitely should be the next strainhunters destination.
