As Jay has said in your other post Red light(1.e., a HPS light) causes the internodes to lengthen, and a plant to streach;

but the major influence is genetics;

if a plant is 100% indica then it will be a short plant;

but if it has sativa genes in it, then it will be taller than a pure indica, but exactly how much taller depends on a number of variables;

broadly these varibales include the plant 's genes, the environment the plant is growing in and the quantity and quality of light the plant recieves;

a very rough guide would be allow 3 times the height for sativa and 1.5 times the height for indica,
