Amnesia & OG Kush in coco with GH Powder Feeding

16 posts in this topic

Hello everybody!

Been following this forum for a long time but have never posted anything. I Would like to show you that you can get great results with GH PF in underwatered coco.

I've been growing in coco for many years. Mostly cuttings from a Cheese mother from GH/Big Buddha, but about a year ago I switched to Amnesia and OG Kush cuttings.

Have tried many different techniques like, DWC, recirculating system with drippers etc, all in coco. But lately I just started to keep it simple by keep my pots on trays and underwater it. I keep my nutrient solution in a reservoir with a airpump and water every 2-3 days. Every 3rd time I water with PH-adjusted water without nutrients to keep the salt levels down. Its very important to not get salt buildup in coco.

Beacuse of my low EC in the water from tap (0.15 EC), I have to add extra Calcium and Magnesium on top off the Powder Feeding. I never go over 1.5 EC in my nutrient solution!

This is my 3rd time doing it like this and I'm almost up on 1gr/watt.

Will update with more photos as time goes, and just ask if you have any questions!

Here they are 16 days into flower. And the last 2 photos are some Amnesia from the last harvest.

hi antonella, depending on how hard your water is it can be usefull to add a little cal/mag because the PF contains only low levels of it as they count on the cal/mag coming from the tap water to feed the plant, that's why for RO water and rain water or very soft waters it is recommended to add Cal/mag ;)

Kokosnot, awesome roo thanks for sharing your setup with us, good to see all this is running with PF and looking so good :) amnesia too were runned under PF for the 1g/w?

Also i like your setup with the underwatering i've read and seen some very nice things about it and someday i'll give it a try.

Have a good grow keep us updated :)

Dust: Thanks! I had around 50% Amnesia & 50% OG in the last grow and had almost 1gr/w. But OG gives a little bit more per plant. Everything were runned under PF, same as this time. If everything works out as planned, I think this grow will hit 1gr/w.

Esekiel: Day temp around 26c. On the hottest summerday it can reach up to max 30c. Night temp between 15c-20c. Depends on what season of the year. I use a Systemair inline fan 400m3 and a Phresh filter 500m3. Because of the location in a basement I doesn't need any bigger. But I have a dehumidifier to bring down the humidity.

Here's some photos from today without the hps on. 18 days of flower. And more of Amnesia from the last grow.

hey antonella yes if you us RO water then you need a little cal/Mag, i can tell you the ration tho it depends the bottle and the water. Check on your bottle you must have some value to help you. God luck :)

And kokosnot very nice room congratulation once again i like it ^^ Ad it's surprising that you do not have more problem with "only 500m3" extractor, but like you saidif it's a basement and it's cool then it's good ^^

Have a good grow!!

I wish I could grow in the basement, too.I have a cooltube and 380m/h extraction fan and a 400W.And 33 degrees.

One question. How many water put you on one container?Do you water as much that a lot of runoff water comes out?Do you check the run off water?

Im actually deciding between DWC and CoCo.But have no real clue of coco.

Hey! Sorry for late update!

Esekiel: I have 6 plants in every tray and water with 10-15 liters in each tray every 2-3 days so no runoff. Many people say that you has to have some runoff but works fine without for me. But very important so check salt buildup. If i get some salt I flush all pots. I never check the runoff!

Here are some photos 28 days in flower. And the last photo is some bubblelator hasch I've made. Got 20g last time!

The room full of ladies looks beautiful man, the frosting makes it look a winter wonderland in those buds :D I can see how you got 20g of hash from you clippings!

I've been looking at getting the bubblebags myself, how do you enjoy the bubblelator? they are made by the same company I believe.

Birdbrothers: Thanks! It's the bubblebags I have. Not the bubblelator. Got it wrong. I've tried the Bubblerlator before but I prefeer a bucket filled with ice and water. And mixing it with this.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
