Iced Widow & White Lemon

Hi! I know this isn't from seed to harvest but I'm planning to change strain after a few harvests so you might be there for my next seed to harvest journal if you think it's important.

I am currently rebuilding my grow room which I will show later on when it's getting done. As for now I keep my plants in a small tent as they still are in the vegetative state and before that I had them in a closet which was too small and to warm which is the reason for my new project.

The grow room will be 160cm x 160cm  and with 245cm in height. Veg room will be 160 x 71 split into two, one for clones 75cm height and one for rooted clones at 170 height. I plan to have maximum 12 plants in bloom at two stages with around 30 days between every harvest.

Now this what I have so far..

ICED WIDOW from GORILLA CANNABIS SEEDS #1

2014-06-04 - 7,5ml nutrition
2014-06-14 - pH 6.5 7,5ml nutrition

2014-06-17 - Plant looks unhealthy
2014-06-18 - Height 21cm
2014-06-20 - 30ml nutrition
2014-06-21 - Flushed
2014-06-22 - Height 24cm
2014-06-28 - pH 6.9, Height 28cm, soil temp. 21,8C

Hello, this is the today's stats and pics. I am still building the room and the plants stay in the tent.

Humidity at 44% and after the spraying (once at morning, once at evening) it's at 50-60% for 2-4 hours.

Temperature steady at 26°C.

ICED WIDOW #1
Height 35cm
pH. 5.3
soil temp. 25,3°C

WHITE LEMON #1
Height 13cm
pH. 5,2
soil temp. 23,5°C

WHITE LEMON #2
Height 12cm
pH. 6.5
soil temp. 23,7°C

Pics added show the tent, a thirsty Iced Widow and the difference between the two White Lemon i currently got. From the beginning White Lemon #2 was stronger but shorter and bushier while White Lemon #1 was kind of weak. I early had to stable it up so it wouldn't break. However, it grows fast and get stronger every day.

Thanks for sharing your ladies man! No matter if it is not from seed to harvest, the important is sharing :) what happened to the big one with the burns on the old leaves? Had a tough youth in the ghetto? :P :P

Also one little more question, i cant help i noticed how you posted your extractor in intraction with the carbon out, any reason for this or is it actually extracting or the arrow is wrong on the box lol? ^^

have a good grow man, they look vigorous so far ;)

The burns comes from e week ago when for a few days the leaves started to get yellow and dry out from the bottom and up, so I thought it might be a nitrogen deficiency so I gave it some extra nutrition (20/6) followed by a flush (21/6). I don't know if that was the correct way of doing it, but it seemed to make the plant happier, and when it only affected the fan-leaves I figured it was no big deal :)

The tent is borrowed and when they guy I borrowed it from installed it I asked the same question. I can't remember the exact words, but he said works fine like that. The plants seem to be fine, so I don't think it's a big issue if it is wrong either.

Thank you, and hopefully it will taste good at the end :)

The air is sucked, just to make more space in the tent :)

I need to make a decision about thcooling system, because I want to prepare for when I get it going for real.

Flowering 2 stages, 6 plants x 2  and am considering 2 x 400w LED + 1 x 250W HPS  OR 4 x 400w LED and 2 x 250W HPS

160 x 160
cm flower room. Any thougts about the lights? :)

Ok then you should put the Carbon filter on the other side of the extractor, even if you keep it out of the tent, the motors of the extractor are made to suck strong, but not to push ;) If you put a resistance after the extractor the motor will heat up more and shorten the life of it ;)

The more light the more surface covered :) Would the 4xLED plus the 2xHPS fit in the air? It would work nicely, You could maybe consider also 2xLED 400w and 2xHPS 400w? You would get even better results i think :) It depends what LED you will use i guess :)

Dust, I will give this suggestion to the owner of the tent :) If it was mine I would change it directly ;)

I was thinking mainly to use LED, but since I have 2 x 250w hps 2 x 250w hid I could use it for extra light lower down. Look at the pic and hopefully you understand my idea.
Also LED doesn't get as warm as HPS which would reduce the chance of getting it to warm and result in less need of temperature adjustments and ventilation I'd guess.

if the house is 24-26 in boxing under led will be about the same. I do not like the current general ventilation. I have an outdoor air conditioner which monitors the temperature. can heat and cool. and I just opened the door to the room. The more light the better - it's a fact. Think about the usefulness of electricity used for lamps and cooling. put LED.   and throw out all their noisy Huge fans.)))))

I will as I believe provide the best solution to the surrounding. It is important for me to not produce to much heat, and not have any huge or non-common machines outside the growing area. I live in a 100 apartment complex in the central parts of my city so doing it secure is extra important.

Now to the real matters. I added a measurement of the leaves of the plants. The blade and the leaflet.

Veg tent 28,5°C, humidity 49% - 55%

ICED WIDOW #1

Height: 36cm
Blade width: 13cm / Leaflet: 2,8cm

WHITE LEMON #1
Height: 21,5cm
Blade width: 11,5cm / Leaflet: 2,5cm

WHITE LEMON #2
Height: 20cm
Blade width: 11,7cm / Leaflet 3cm

For some reason I find that White Lemon #1 has much better genetics and that's why I've decided to only clone from her when the time comes. I also must admit that I checked the Iced Widow poorly because it grew into the lamp and got itself a small lightburn. I believe it will be alright, just a mistake of the circumstance with delays in the building project. (transport issue).

I've been spending the day cloning the Iced Widow #1. My intention was 4 clones, but I also took two smaller ones to give the plant more space. So, overall there is now 6 clones and we'll see what becomes of them. I actually expect a few to die since I haven't done this in a long while.

First I put rockwool in a mild nutrient solution for 5 hours. Then I cut the clones, prepared it and dipped it in Hesi Clonfix for 15-30 seconds. I also topped the leaves to reduce some weight.

Good luck to your clones man i hope they will survive ;) I believe you should strip them a little more to leave only the top it will be easier for them to root this way with less material to maintain alive, but they should do it that way too :)

Have a good grow man!

As it looks now they are fine, so if nothing dramatically happens I will leave them. I am however planning to take new clones from the White Lemon in a matter of a week/weeks, so I will do as you suggest then :)

Two days after the cloning I transplanted the ICED WIDOW #1 and today I switched the timer to 12/12. I have been giving the plant light from a 250W HPS the last few days in veg but now it is finally at the last few steps before harvest.

I don't know how the clones are doing, the leaves are shrinking, drying and getting yellow but it looks like it's soaked.. Rockwool was very very hard to understand. I will see if anything helps and read some guides and hopefully I'll get it right. Would be nice to keep the Iced Widow living for another generation.

I found some mortar buckets at 17l  (4,5 US gal) and drilled holes with a spread I think is good (if anybody has an opinion, please tell). I will build some holders for the buckets with wheels so I easily can move them in the room while working.

The room will soon be finished :D Hopefully after this weekend :)

I clean more trunk makes an incision along. for more tacts and massive rooting. insert in mineral wool and keep it very wet, clean water. prune leaves 50% as well as you. and it is important to reduce the intensity of lighting fittings, slowing photosynthesis, speeding rooting. this is my way of 90-100%.

I have spent the day building the room, pruning, topping and fimming. I choose to do a simple topping on the White Lemon #1 and fimming on White Lemon #2. That's because White Lemon #1 is catching up on the size and also the height is much higher. White Lemon #1 is at 29cm and White Lemon #2 is at 22cm.

Iced Widow is at 51cm height. And I just fed it with my first nutrient solution since last flush 21/6.

The clones has as I said not been looking very good. But it is moist but not soaked. I feel like at least 1, hopefully 2-3 will survive. But if only one does I am happy anyway because then the strain is still alive :)
I will try another technique and put the clones in soil and not rock wool.

Edit: I have also started to add supervit to the water that I give to the plants.

Thanks for the news man, hope the clone will finally make it ;) you can take away the almost dead leaves for me they will not give more energy to the clone ;)

Have a good rooting and grow with the room :)

Thank you! I will do some pruning on the clones next time it's plant care time :)

I have been a little lazy with all the stats and such. It's for my own knowledge, grow rates etc. I think I should collect data every day and create a chart at every harvest. Would be fun to see! :D

As the White Lemons are getting to tall for the veg tent I figured it was time to clone a few days before moving them to the flowering tent. This time I put the clones directly into pots of soil. I also usen another rooting gel, Rootit. The Clone Hormone I used for the rock wool is more liquidized than the rootit gel which makes it more suitable for soil. However, i'd prefer powder for this. Cloning is new to me, so I will try it over and over until I find a technique that match my way of thinking and handling the products.

Here you can also see the difference between the White Lemons and it's genetics.
