The most impressive behaviour I´ve seen was a Anax imperator (very territorial dragonfly) attacking and scaring away birds from a pond in his territory. Very aggresive. To the point that it attacked my camera.Breeding dragonflies is high tech work. They have a aquatic larva stage of very strick conditions. Some of them even need three to four years as a larva. Others need ponds with dry seasons. Scientist know very little of the early stages of life of dragonflies.In spain we have around 60 species of dragonflies I´ve had the chance to photograph over 50.
