Be Part of a Short Dagga Documentary

Posted: 27 Mar 2012 02:59 PM PDT

It’s been about a year since I first sat down to share a joint with Jules and Myrtle (aka, The Dagga Couple). So what’s gone down since?

An uncertain future has materialised into solid ground. Their court case is now at the High Court with the various government departments having responded with nothing original in defense of why they think they should continue with a misguided policy of cannabis prohibition. Game on!

Besides the court case, the dagga movement is evolving. Thanks to Jules, Myrtle and Imiël Visser of NORML ZA this is not just about the court case anymore, their efforts with brochures, pamphlets, networking and dagga documentary screenings at various locations is a about taking the word to the people all across our beautiful country.

But enough of that… something’s cooking. How has South Africa been so relevant yet irrelevant to the global cannabis community for so long? There, but not there. We have every sort of cannabis user and grower here. Owing to our mishmash of regular cultures, we probably have the most diverse cannabis culture in the galaxy.

So here’s the deal.

The Dagga Couple is putting together a short and sharp documentary on what SA’s cannabis story is and who we are. They’re looking for you or people you know, who want to give honest accounts of who you are and why you think dagga should be legal. Just you, with ten seconds to state your case.

Use your webcam, use your phone, use whatever, man. The Dagga Couple has all the logistics set up, they just need you show the world that dagga is far from gagga. The best clips get featured in the documentary.

If you are currently in the debilitating situation of having smoked yourself retarded, send a clip of you or your friends laughing.
