Hey everyone, big fan of the movies and coffee shop :)

I am an English film student in my final year and currently collecting footage for a cannabis documentary so far mainly from protests and rallies here in the UK. I'm returning to Amsterdam again in February and was wondering if this is the sort of place I could contact someone about the possibility of an interview about Greenhouse and Amsterdam for my film?

Other than that I look forward to chattin' about ganj with you all ;)

Hello Ellskin, First Welcome on The sh forum nice to see another english here, things are moving in your country this year, lots of talking at least ^^

About your interview, franco is often hanging on Forum with us he will probably come to welcome you here, you'll be able to ask him yourself ;) Perhaps he'll have some time for you, but the GH crew is a busy team.

I hope you'll have a great time on our forum, come and chat with us and light 1 or 2 J's online, and have a good reading and swirling in front of our porn plant pictures ;)

Have a good discovering of the site ;)

And share some of your videos with us ;)

If you like to organize an interview just let me know when you'll be in town and we'll make it happen, compatibly with my crazy schedule... LOL

Consider that after 22 February I will be in Barcelona for the Spannabis Expo ;-)

Hey everyone, thanks for all the warm welcomes and help, I didn't expect replies so fast :)

Hi Franco, I arrive on the evening of the 16th and leave in the afternoon on the 20th of February, any time you have to talk to us would be great! I'm especially interested in the current state of marijuana laws in Holland and what happened at this years Cannabis Cup with the police, so I can compare this to the recently purposed changes in the UK's law in the film, as well as an overview of the Greenhouse/Strain Hunters mission. Also it is my 21st Birthday on the 17th and it would be amazing to meet you, as I said I'm a huge fan of the Strain Hunters movies, I feel no other documentary really brings the viewer as close to the natural growth of cannabis without dressing the farmers up as 'terrorists' and criminals which we all know is normally not the case, and this is very important as we progress into a more accepting community.

For those of you who asked me to post some film work, here's a short clips I made with Reeps One, a beatboxer friend of mine who some of you may have seen perform at Cannabis Cup 07 or the on the 20th anniversary DVD:

I am also currently working on some short films which I will post here when they're done.

Purpose of Strain Hunters

Our planet is home to millions of species of animal and plants with their own habitat, and each plays a unique role in the perfect design of nature. Unfortunately many species of plants and animals are victim of uncontrolled human development. The sole intent of Strain Hunters is to identify, locate and retrieve cannabis landraces that have not yet been studied, in order to give scientists and doctors the possibility to further enhance knowledge of the cannabis plant in the medicinal field.


Preservation of Landraces

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.

Cannabis should not be illegal


One of the goals of the United Nations, published years ago in official reports, was to wipe out the cannabis plant from the face of the earth by the year 2010. In reality this is far from being achieved, because man keeps using the cannabis plant for religious, medicinal and recreational purposes no matter what the law says. Most cultures cannot comprehend how a plant can be made illegal. In most people’s perception, plants and animals stand above a status of legality or illegality, they just exist in a higher design of nature that goes beyond human laws and regulations.

Nevertheless most governments of cannabis- producing countries are implementing drastic measures to destroy crops. Dangerous chemicals are sprayed over fields and over the farmers themselves in most of the third world countries, and the poorest people of the planet are the ones paying the highest price for cultivating a plant that does not kill. But in the economy of scale, where demand dictates supply, the poorest people of the planet have no choice but to cultivate cannabis as a cash crop to feed their children and send them to school. Communities that are isolated in remote areas in the poorest regions of the planet are often the keepers of very special landraces.
