Yeah......er.......thanks Norcal..... I think there may be a sense of irony to the whole ad campaign don't you?!

I appreciate it is heavy handed irony in the Obama picture and in pretty sure he didn't ok it?

Like unsaid, just for interest sake and a little laugh in the 'chill out' section of the forum.

As much as I like pretty women and it is a double bonus if they like to smoke Cannabis, What is important to me is the message that is being spread, by the likes of ASA,MMP,Normal & THCF. :)

These organisations are trying to make a better world for us by putting their time and effort into promoting cannabis and changing the way that people see it.

They are promoting Cannabis in a possitive light, this seems a good thing to me and hope that there are always people working for us and stopping innocent cannabis smokers from being made into criminals.

The use of famous faces is a advertising strategy that make people sit up and take notice. As far as I am aware no of the faces actively promote cannabis as a career choice, but they have all smoked cannabis and have admitted as much.

No matter what walk of life a person comes from or ends up becoming, there will always be cannabis smokers, it doesn't matter is they are a actress or a politician just as long as there is someone to promote the cause, such as the organisations on the poster.

Viva Cannabis and all who stand to promote it, don't always look a the big people, for it is often the little people that really do the hard work and are fighting your corner.

To all the little people that work so hard and never asking for personal recognition or thanks , I salute you and all that you do for Cannabis users worldwide.

The Organisations on the posters

The Ad Council - this part as far as i can see is tongue in cheek and in response to their anti cannabis stance. Look here http://voices.yahoo....ana-915857.html

MPP - Marijuana Policy Project - http://www.mpp.org/

Norcal - No offence meant. it's not that I didn't like your post. It is not for me to like or dislike any post on this, the most open of forums. I think Obamas personal opinion and political opinion probabaly differ but it is going to take some real balls for any major world leader to be the first to break the cycle of prohibition. I felt you missed my point a little and assumed my ignorance in relation to current cannabis world affairs. I donot purely research or take interest in the fight against prohibition in my own country as I am a man of the world and feel very strongly that I should be able to walk the earth with weed in my pocket. It would therefore be short sighted for me to only take notice of my own home shores.

Thanks for dropping by Lams and thanks for the further posters. I totally agree with your points. Whether the celebrities shown advocate legalisation, decriminalisation or prohibition is unimportant. These well regarded house hold names have tried cannabis, use it regularly, use it for is medicinal benefits or use it once a year. Whichever it is, they have admitted their association with the plant and that makes it appear more normal (which we all know it is) in the public eye. This is the driver of the ad producers. I'm the little guy forwarding on to other little guys who collectively make a big voice and ultimately will make the change.

I do have a crush on Jennifer Anniston, that won't change, especially since I found out about her affinity to the erb but it does not cloud my understanding of the campaign or detract from the true intention of my post which was always to promote the efforts of the pro cannabis organisations.

Respect.
