looking nice man, you're gonna have nice buds there :)

For the scrog i think it's to late to work your girls,, you will have more risk to injure them at this stage than younger to me.. but you can still try tho :)

Great growing Jay an inspiration to all, good work fella.

As for a scrog screen,

Build screen with a rigid frame suspend from the ceiling with cables of good streng, using pulleys so it can be lowered to exact height,

Then attach cables to the underside of the frame and secure to the anchor points where you tied the yoyo's.

The tension in the cables/rope etc. will keep the screen from moving around (i guess there will be a little play).

This will produce a floating screen.

The equal tension will keep the screen from rising or falling.

The frame shouls have some kind of strengthening at the corners to stop twist and warp.

wether you use flat "L" shaped brackets top and bottom, 90 degree bent brackets on the inside and outside edges or triangular infils at the corners or some other way is up to you.

I would drill through the frame and attach eye bolts making sure you use washers, this is where you attach your cables.

one set up and one set down.

I am not totally sure what you were after , this is just what came to mind , whilst looking at your set up.

I hope this will be of some help to you.

What ever you decide, i will be watch to see how your grow goes.

It is looking pretty mighty, and i look forwards to seeing the finished product.

All the best and happy growing

Lamsbread,

Thanks for the ideas. A floating screen might be a good way to go. I have thought of securing a screen on the far side wall, the only side you see in the pics, as I am standing on the other side to take them.

I guess what I am most concerned with in the scrog thing is the inability to get under it to take care of the plants. I have had some really good grows, but the grows where I was not able to get to the plants for weeks at a time (over crowding) have resulted in the worst grows.

I was also thinking of attaching the screen to the 5 gallon bucket so that the screen would be per plant allowing me some flexibility in how many plants I put in and allow me to harvest one at a time like I do now.

Thanks for the great idea!

J

I did think access migh be an issue though the idea i was thinking , was for individual plants.

Maybe circular hoops might be a better shape, no warp and twist , circles are very stable, i would attach meash with cable ties.

The cables on the top part could be joined together at the desired height and then joined to a single cable that went to the ceiling pulley.(let me know if i have not made myself clear)

The bottom cables could also go inwards from the hoop to the bucket like you said or as close to the buckets bottom and anchored to the floor.

I think you said the plants were 36" high (correct me if i'm wrong), so access shouldn't be too bad, a pair of knee pads i think would be a must

There is just over 3 weeks left until harvest and the plants look amazing. I just gave them what will likely be their last feeding. In 2 weeks I should start to see some amber tricomes, and they will go on straight water until harvest.

Now for the bud porn:

Super Lemon Haze:

The next one looks like diamonds. It's absolutely covered in clear tricomes. One small bud fell off while I was working in the room, and I put it under the scope. It look surreal!

All the yoyos that were hold down the branches are now on top and are holding up the branches. The buds are really heavy!!!

mmm lemony goodness, lemon haze it is said to be very energetic , uplifting and one of the best smokes around from GHS.

OG Kush From RP excellent pedigree ,Medical marijuana strains give this a medical grade A+++ and 10/10 for stregth.

Some powerful medicine for sure, when the term "a taste of your own medicine" was coined, no one realised medice could be so nice and tasty.

This will be a grow to watch, what with two such great heavy weight contenders in the ring.

I'm sure you know the qualities of these strains jay but for those who want to know more about thier stength and medicinal value, i leave a couple of links of thier strain descriptions.

As one dor closes , another door opens,

As one is smoked, another is growing.

such a beautiful duality.

Will be watchin, nose to the screen , smile on my face

happy growing jayteeth_smile.gif

lamsbread,

I've been growing from the same super lemon haze mother for about a year. The buds on this one though are swelling a lot more than usual and are totally covered.

I grew the OG my last grow, and kept one for a mother. I have 3 nice young clones with nice roots starting. They will work their way in the room next month. I am thinking about cracking a thai too. I grew out two GH thai plants last winter. The buds looked terrible, long and whispy, but the high was one of a kind.

Ahhh, so many great buds to grow, so few spaces in the grow room ;)

Peace,

J

ooh thai.

I have some seeds from some thai stick, though it is more probable to have come from laos.

seeds are a few years old but i bet some will germinate.

I only have a small area in which i grow, so after my supercritical auto's finish,I will be growing a purple strain called "twilight" from dutch passion.

If I do get adventurous and do the thai after that , i would flower from seed.

It would be very interesting to see how long it takes the thai to flower and the extra height which is added during flowering.

peace

  • 2 weeks later...

Glad to see the forums back up. Here are some pics from the 23rd of August. Now that I know we are back up on the forums I will take some more pics this weekend. The plants are finishing fast. I put them on straight water yesterday.

These are pics from a week ago:

This is a new Super Lemon Haze.

This is my final report on this grow.

My take away, growing less is much better than trying to stuff to many plants in together. My last grow had up to 8 plants at one time in my bloom room, granted the yeild was a lot more than this yeild. But the quality was out standing.

Here is what the three ladies look like in their final pose. I promise to take some laid out with weight a bit later. If I don't smoke it all up first ;)

Two Himalyan Gold plants. The two on the left are from the center plant, the three on the right are from the spread one on the right.

Less is more!

The buds on the HG are big and fat. They smell a bit sweet. I have not smoked her. Yet.

The SLH is like taffy. She's so sticky. She dried on these round nets for 4 days, were crispy dry. I jarred her, and she got so sticky, I had to leave her jars open for 24 hours. I'll probably have to do it again tomorrow.

Great high! 3 hours, and functional. She smokes fantastic. Smells like lemon pledge. And sparkles in the day light. I like OG, I like HG, but I love SLH!!!

Peace,

J

chech out my post on scrog. u r a perfect candadate for scrog looking at your set up. u can get more out of your space with scrog http://www.strainhunters.com/portal/node/7328

i will also soon post a new training method i am starting. it will definately help

what i did to those plants in scrog was kind of an extreme measures to reduce height, and dont really recomend.

thats why i have started new training regiment. this is step 2IMG_0583.JPG

the pipes are actually supports for my old scrog trellis. they work really good for a solid support. but they could be used as a buryable soaker pipe if elbow and manifold was added. i have had great success with buryable soaker pipes.in my first gaurilla grow use one in a 20 gal. pot. worked great only had to water once a week. small doodle of what it looked like.IMG_0597.JPG
