Time for a progress update on the 2 outdoor Sweet Valley Kush at the end of week 6 and start of week 7 of flowering.

On Thursday morning at 6.30am it was warm and bright there were no clouds just a blue sky the temperature inside the shed was about 20C so I put both of the plants outside in the yard I checked the temperature after 30 minutes and it was about 24C but not in direct sunlight.

By 8.30am the temperature in direct sunlight was about 28C and by 10am it was about 34C and mid afternoon it was about 38C then it got very cloudy and dull and we had a couple of thunderstorms the first was quite quick I dashed outside and put the plants inside the shed, within 30 minutes the sun was shining again so I put them back outside.

But about an hour later it got cloudy and dull again and so I left the plants outside the rain was forcast for the evening, but suddenly there was a rumble of thunder and it started to rain lightly, by the time I got to the plants the rain drops were massive I put both plants into the shed and left them in the shed under the fluorescent tubes.

I left the shed door open to ventilate the shed and I left them until 7pm before I switched off the fluorescent tubes and locked up for the night the temperature in the shed was about 28C and there is now a nice cool breeze to help things cool down, ready for another hot day tomorrow.

Friday morning at 6.30am it was nice warm the sky was blue and the temperature in the shed was about 20C so I moved both of the plants outside into the back yard, I checked the temperature about 30 minutes later and it was about 24C and by mid morning it was about 28C

In the early afternoon the temperature was about 28C then it started to get dull and very cloudy and the temperature dropped to about 24C there was some light rain about 3pm so I put them in the shed but it soon passed after 30 minutes and brightened up a bit so I put the plants back outside.

The root pouches were light and the dirt was nice and dry so at about 5pm I gave both plants 2 litres of water each the temperature outside was about 26C by 5.30pm it was starting to rain lightly so I moved the plants into the shed under the fluorescent tubes, at 6.30pm the temperature inside the shed was still about 26C when I switched off the fluorescent tubes and locked up for the night.

On Saturday morning at 6.30am it was dull very cloudy and raining so I switched on the fluorescent tubes the temperature in the shed was about 20C by 9am the cloud had thinned out and the sun was shining and the temperature was about 22C by lunch time the temperature in direct sunlight was about 32C and in the early afternoon it reached about 36C.

At 6.30pm when I put the plants in the shed for the night the temperature was about 22/4C inside the shed.

On Sunday morning at 6.30am it was dull and very cloudy and raining when I opened the shed so I switched on the fluorescent tubes the temperature was about 18C inside the shed, by mid morning the temperature was about 20C and in the afternoon it reached about 22C it was dull and cloudy and rained all day, so the plants stayed inside, at 6.30pm when I locked up the temperature inside the shed was about 20C

This morning my alarm did not go off the battery was flat on my iPaq, so it was just after 7am when I went outside to the shed the weather was dull and cloudy so I switched on the fluorescent tubes the temperature was about 18C and by 9.30am the cloud thinned out and the sun came out so I moved the plants out into the yard and the temperature in direct sunlight was about 26C when I checked an hour later it was about 32C

Mid afternoon the temperature reached about 36C in direct sunlight, unfortunately Mr Moose got knocked over this morning and he got damaged his legs have now broke and there is an air bubble in the mercury or whatever the substance in the glass tube is, so I am guessing the temperature inside the shed was about 24C when I locked up at about 7pm tonight.

This afternoon I measured the plants and SVK-B#1 is now 54cm tall and SVK-B#2 is now 61cm tall the buds on the plant have closed up now and they are quietly fattening up as they move towards weeks 8 and 9 of flowering.

Here are some images I took yesterday afternoon.

The weather forcast for the next couple of days is crap but it should be back to more warm sunny days again at the start of August.

More updates to follow, happy growing...

Time for a quick progress update on the 2 outdoor Sweet Valley Kush plants as we approach the end of week seven of flowering.

Tuesday morning at 6.30am it was a bit cloudy but there was plenty of blue sky so I put the plants outside in the yard and by about 9am the cloud had thined out and it was warm and sunny, but mid afternoon is went dull and really cloudy and all of a click it started to hail stone, shit those bloodclatts were almost 1cm, they have fallen tens of thousands of feet and are incoming at great velocity.

By the time I spazzed down stairs and outside into the yard it was a barrage those fuckers hurt, I got the plants into the shed as quickly as I could, fortunately they only lost a couple of leaf tips where a couple of hail stones had hit them and the spider had shifted its batty onto the main stalk somewhere safe.

After the hail it started to brighten up so I put the plants back outside, but 20 minutes later it started to go dull and then started to piss down, so I moved the plants back into the shed under the fluorescent tubes for the rest of the day until 6.30pm when I locked up for the night.

Wednesday at 6.30am it was dull and cloudy to start with so I left the plants in the shed under the fluorescent tubes until lunch time when the cloud thinned out and the sun came out and it warmed up, so I moved the plants outside to enjoy the sunshine, until 6.30pm when I put them in the shed for the night and locked up.

Today at 6.30am it was dull and cloudy so I let the plants in the shed under the fluorescent tubes, by 9.30am the cloud had thinned out and the sun was shining so I moved the plants outside into the sunshine where they stayed for the rest of the day, the dirt in the root pouches was dry and they felt light so at about 4pm I gave each plant 2 litres of water.

At 6.30pm I put both of the plants inside the shed and locked up for the night, the forcast for tomorrow and the next couple of days is warm and sunny so things are looking good, the bud is quietly fattening on both of the plants.

Happy growing...

Time for a progress update on the 2 outdoor Sweet Valley Kush plants at the end of week 7 and start of week 8 of flowering.

On Thursday morning at 6.30am it was a bit cloudy and dull so I switched on the fluorescent tubes and left both of the plants in the shed, by about 8.30am the cloud had thinned out and the sun was shining so I moved both plants outside into the yard where they stayed until 6.30pm when I put them back into the shed and locked up for the night.

On Friday morning at 6.30am it was great lots of blue sky with a few beany fluffy clouds and nice and warm, so I moved both f the plants outside into the yard to enjoy the sunshine.

At about 9am I went out to check the weather and have a look at the plants and I noticed some bud rot just below the top of the main stalk on SVK-B#1 so I had a wash got my arse in gear checked my emails did a few maintenance jobs for clients and then I had a brew and started to harvest SVK-B#1

I did not want to risk cutting the bud out and trying to nurse her along and maybe risk losing more bud, so I got a cardboard box to put the fan leaves in and a bin liner I use to cover the work top and my clippers and took them out to the shed along with a small plastic bag.

I then took some photos of the plants and the top of SVK-B#1 at the site of the bud rot, then I moved the plant into the shed and used the plastic bag like a glove to get hold of the top of the plant and cut the stalk just below the bud rot site.to hopefully keep the spores contained.

Then I stripped all of the fan leaves that were mashed up by bugs and threw them on the floor to go in the bin, the undamaged fan leaves I put in the cardboard box I use these like shag (baccy) if I want a smoke but not to get high or if the bud is sticky and it makes the bud go further.

Once I had removed all of the big fan leaves I cut the stalks off the main stalk then used my clippers to remove the rest of the fan leaves and threw them into the box with the rest, then I rolled up the stalks in the bin liner and put them in the cardboard box and took it inside.

I then trimmed all the bud on the stalks and set up a couple of string lines, these are two pices of string with the ends tied together to form a loop I trap this using the lid of a man hole in the bathroom ceiling then I twist the string and tie the other end to the top of the shower cubicle door frame.

I then pull the string apart and push the stalk into the gap in the string then release the string so it grips the stalk it is a really simple way to easily and securely hang the stalks I saw this technique on a video on You Tube this is how they dry tobacco to dry the leaves

I prefer to hang the stalks like this to dry the bud rather than using a clothes rack to do the same thing, the stalks can fall off the clothes rack this way the string has hold of them and they are not taking up floor space, a tidy solution.

Last night at 6.30pm when I went outside to put SVK-B#2 in the shed for the night it was still hot and quite humid battle damaged Mr moose and his thermometer was reporting about 26C so I decided to leave her outside until it cooled off, at about 9pm it was much cooler and there was a nice breeze so I put her in the shed for the night and locked up.

This morning at 6.30am the sky was blue with just a bit of cloud so I put SVK-B#2 outside in the yard and by about 8.30am the sun was high enough in the sky to shine directly into the back yard and SVK-B#2 was basking in the sunlight.

Here are some images I took yesterday.

I have given SVK-B#2 a good once over and she seems to be OK probably because she has a bit more space between her nodes, so I will keep her going and keep a close eye on her as we forward, the dirt in her root pouch was dry today so at about 4.30pm I gave her 2 litres of water.

When I went out into the yard at 6.30pm it was still warm and humid so I have left her outside until it cooled down about 8pm I will moved her back into the shed and locked up for the night.

I will update again tomorrow with some images of the bud on SVK-B#2

I removed the roots and dirt for SVK-B#1 from the root pouch to recycle the dirt and to have a look at the state of the root system the roots look very healthy to me they are all a nice white colour no brown or rotted roots which shows the bio grow powder feed does a good job.

This morning at 6.30am there was lots of blue sky very few clouds and it was very bright so I moved SVK-B#2 outside into the yard where she has been most of the day there was a brief shower so I put her in the shed and 20 minutes it brightened up so I moved her back outside.

Here are some images of SVK-B#2 that I took this afternoon.

The forcast is for rain this evening and a nice day with sunshine again tomorrow, it looks like we will get more crappy days but we seem to be getting more sunny days than shit days so its all good, I just need to nurse SVK-B#2 through the next week or two.

You can clearly see in the images that the trichomes are all nice and milky and there are a few amber trichomes too and the buds are all little fatty boom booms full fo resin, so she is getting close to harvest now.

More updates to follow soon, happy growing...  :pleasantry:

Time for a quick progress update on the remaining outdoor Sweet Valley Kush as we near the end of week 8 of flowering.

On MOnday morning at 6.30am when I opened the shed it was a bit cloudy and dull so I switched on the fluorescent tube and left the plant in the shed.

By about 9am the cloud had thinned out and the sun was shining, so I moved the plant outside into the back yard where she stayed for the rest of the day at 6.30pm it was still a bit hot and humid so I left her outside until about 9pm when it was much cooler then I put her in the shed for the night and locked up.

On Tuesday morning at 6.30am there was not much cloud and it was warm and bright so I moved the plant outside into the yard, around 8am it went really dull and cloudy and started to piss down, so I quickly went outside and moved the plant back inside the shed under the fluorescent tubes.

By 10am the weather had healed up and the cloud had thined out and the sun was shining down, so I moved the plant back outside into the sunshine where she stayed for the rest of the day, by 6.30pm it was still very warm and humid so I left her outside until 9pm when it was much cooler outside and in the shed, so I moved her into the shed and locked up for the night.

Yesterday at 6.30am it was lovely with lots of blue sky and a few fluffy little clouds so I moved the plant outside into the yard, at about 10.30am I went for a walk with a friend and at around 11am it started to rain, fortunately a family member moved the plant into the shed for me.

I left the plant in the shed until about 1pm when the cloud thinned out and the sun was shining, the dirt in her root pouch was dry and it felt nice and light so at about 5pm I gave her 2 litres of water and at 6.30pm it was still very warm and humid so I left her outside until 9pm when it was cooler then I put her in the shed and locked up for the night.

Here are some images I took before I watered.

As you can see the calynx are full of resin and the buds are nice and fat now.

Most of the trichomes are nice and milky and there are some amber trichomes she is almost ready to cut.

I am not sure whether to let her run another week or cut and harvest at the weekend I am thinking I will let her go another week.

Happy growing...  :pleasantry:

If the weather is good next week, maybe you can cut the main cola this week end and let the rest on the plant one more week. I see that the lower buds need a little more time to are fully ripe ;-)

Time for a progress update, the bud from SVK-B#1 has been hanging on the stalk in my little bathroom for a week now and the bud is pretty dry.

So I have trimmed the bud off the stalk which has a dry weight of 22.2g and the dry trim from the bud weighed 3.9g

I then put the dry trim into a little glass kilner type jar and put all the bud into a brown paper bag which is sat on top of the tent.

I will leave the bud in the brown paper bag for a week the put the bud into a kilner jar, by the the bud from SVK-B#2 will be dry and ready to trim off the stalk ready to be placed into the brown paper bag for a week to let it finish drying.

I scraped the blades of the clippers and collected the resin and rolled it into a little sausage and then I got some of the trim and a couple of small buds and rolled a spliff with them the part with the little charas sausage was nice and tasted like the bud smells similar to the Kings Kush which I would describe as earthy and herbal.

Here are some images I took.

This morning at 6.30am when I went outside to the shed it was pissing down and the sky was full of dark rain clouds, so I switched on the fluorescent tubes and left SVK-B#2 in the shed where it was nice and dry.

I went inside and had something to eat and had a look at the newspaper to see what those polystricksters are up to then about 9am the weather had healed up and it was bright and sunny outside, so I moved SVK-B#2 outside into the yard into the sunshine.

As I was looking at her I suddenly noticed a bit of bud rot that seemed to be only on one bud, so I decided that the best plan would be to cut and harvest her to save the rest of the bud my usual approach in this situation.

I then took care of a couple of little jobs, then I had a brew and then I went outside and moved SVK-B#2 into the shed and stripped off all of the large fan leaves, then I started cutting off stalks from the bottom of the plant upwards and cutting off the smaller fan leaves with clippers.

I cut the stalk off the fan leaves then throw the stalk away and throw the fan leaves into a cardboard box to dry.

Once I had removed all of the stalks and stripped the fan leaves I brought the stalks and fan leaves inside and then I trimmed the sugar leaves on the bud on the stalks and hung them up so the bud can dry.

Here are some images I took while I cut and harvested the plant.

Bud rot near top of plant looked like only one bud was affected when first spotted.

Good question @OG.Naj

I am thinking I will save the trim then use some to make qwiso hash and some canna butter for making brownies

I also save the stalks and use them for making canna butter, the vibe from them is mild so they are nice in the morning to start the day. :pleasantry:

The bud from SVK-B#2 has been hanging on the stalk for a week now and the bud is dry and the little stalks make a snapping sound when I break them off the stalk, so I have removed all of the buds from the stalks and then put the bud into a brown paper bag to continue to dry slowly for another week before it goes into a kilner jar.

The bud from SVK-B#2 weighed 25.3g in total and the was 2.9g of trim off the buds which I have mixed with the trim from SVK-B#1 which now makes a total of 6.2g of trim from SVK-B#1 and SVK-B#2 which I can use to make QWISO hash, I will use the stalks to make canna butter.

I also save all of the fan leaves from the plants, which I use in a spliff instead of shag (baccy), I quit smokin shag 3 years ago.

Here are some images I took.

The bud from SVK-B#1 smells a lot nicer after a week in the brown paper bag drying slowly, the aroma is a bit more complex now, the smell is earthy, herby sort of medicinal, with a subtle fruity note as well now.

I have notice when I smell the live bud there is a subtle bubble gum aroma I also noticed this with the Kings Kush and Jack Herer autos too.

I am glad that my outdoor run is over the weather over the last week has been awful it has rained a lot and today it is pissing down and really windy its proper wicked an wild out there, even the dog doesn't want to go outside for a piss he has got his little legs crossed.

I will update again next week when the bud from SVK-B#2 is ready to go in a kilner jar.

This afternoon I emptied the root pouch for SVK-B#2 to checkout the roots and recycle the dirt and again just like SVK-B#1 her root system looks like it were nice and healthy, it is a shame about the bud rot I should have sprayed them with a 1% solution of hydrogen peroxide to avoid it.

And a freshly cooked batch of brownie mix cooling.

18aug-2019-brownie-mix-freshly-cooked.jpg

I remembered I had some canna butter in the freezer so I crack up a brownie mix and got it cooked once it cooled early evening I sliced it up and put it into a container to keep it fresh then I had a brew and ate a piece, for quality control purposes and I can testify it works.

Anyhoo the bud from SVK-B#2 is in the brown paper bag on top of the grow tent drying slowly I have the small plastic container I use to soak seeds in the mouth of the bag so air can flow in and out freely and I also turn the bag twice per day, if the buds sweat onto the bottom of the bag when I turn it over it dries out and the bud gets jiggled about too, it definitely smells better.

I will update at the end of the week when the bud from SVK-B#2 is ready to go into the kilner jar.

Nice plants and a lovely looking harvest, I saw that the plants were grown outdoor and you've controlled their height a lot. I was a bit surprised because I received the seeds a bit late after I had already moved plants to a spot outdoors to a spot for a guerilla grow.

The sweet valley kush that grew slow at start however they have caught up in size with all the other plants and the sweet valley kush plants is somewhere over 2 meters in size and has grown into the soil in a swamp, I didn't want to damage the roots when moving them so they are big and the outdoor season isn't over yet.
