Ya KATHMANDU, I did notice that on their site :) Which is great news..but I am in Canada, and they are in the USA, so by the time I paid shipping etc. it is cheaper for me to get them from my local hydroponics store at $140 Canadian, and he even includes the taxes which are 13% so I'm pretty happy. But for anyone from the US, or another country and don't mind shipping costs I would say they are a really good deal at $125 each.

Hello friends..thank you everyone again for spending time here! Things are busy and nightly training sessions with the ladies have been long and intense at times with them in full stretch mode and me being one picky SOB :P It is really awesome and cool to hear that many of you take time to read all of my ramblings as well as enjoy the pictures..it's kinda like I have friends looking over my shoulder and enjoying the view while I work :) So, here now are my journal entries for the week, I hope everyone is looking forward to the coming of Spring and outdoor planting in the Northern Hemisphere, and Fall and outdoor Harvest in the Southern Hemispehere :dancer:

Peace

04/03/13 Day 08 of 12/12 (Day 01 of flowering)

Tasks performed:

- Shifted the entire Trainwreck canopy to the left to center it more by re-training both plants

Observations:

- The SLH’s & TW’s are showing multiple pistils growing everywhere and pre-flowering tops have really started on the SLH’s. I’m going to officially call today as the start of flowering even though the SLH’s could really be a few days earlier for sure. I know some people start the count at day 01 of 12/12 but I think it is more accurate to count from when they actually start to flower. Besides, it is just a guideline and the plants tell us when it’s time.

06/03/13

Observations:

- TW#1’s yellowing leaves that have had the yellowing plaguing them since almost the start has actually started to improve! The green (chlorophyll) is returning to the yellowed areas that didn’t get to the point of necrosis. The improvement has come since I gave her a good flush and got the run-off EC balanced to the same as TW#2’s. It should be noted that she was getting the highest EC of all plants as she was getting B-52 before the others were. Based on how healthy and green they are with the relatively low EC’s I’ve been feeding them lately especially compared to their size I again conclude that the Grow Cubes in the substrate make nutrient requirements much less than average, unless there is something I am missing to the equation.

- Humidity is staying balanced nicely around average 55% during lights on with the humidifier only coming on occasionally.

07/03/13

Tasks Completed:

Watered SLH #1 & #2 each with 9 L each r/o +

Botanicare Cal Mag Plus (required w/ r/o water) @ 1.15 mL/L x 9 L = 10 mL EC: 0.51

DNF Carbo Logic @ 0.3 g/L x 9 L = 2.7 g EC: 0

Advanced Nutrients Sensizym @ 1 mL/L x 9 L = 9 mL EC: 0.02

DNF Pine Oil additive @ 1 mL/L x 9 L = 9 mL EC: 0.04

GHSC Sativa Powderfeed @ 0.35 g/L x 9 L = 3.2 g EC: 0.6

Potassium Silicate @ 0.1 mL/L x 9 L = 0.9 mL EC: 0.04

Total EC: 1.21 pH: 6.1 Temperature: 19°C

Run-off EC – SLH#1 = 1.67 SLH#2 = 1.78

Run-off pH – SLH#1 = 5.8 SLH#2 – 5.7

Watered TW #1 & TW#2 each with 8.5 L each r/o +

Botanicare Cal Mag Plus @ 1.25 mL/L x 17 L = 22 mL EC: 0.56

DNF Pine Oil additive @ 1 mL/L x 17 L = 17 mL EC: 0.04

DNF Carbo Logic @ 0.3 g/L x 17 L = g EC: 0

Advanced Nutrients Sensizym @ 1 mL/L x 17 L = 17 mL EC: 0.02

GHSC Hybrid Powderfeed @ 0.73 g/L x 17 L = 12.4 g EC: 1.03

Potassium Silicate @ 0.10 mL/L x 17 L = 1.7 mL EC: 0.04

Total EC: 1.69 pH: 6.1 Temperature: 19 °C

Run-off EC = 2.58 both plants

Run-off pH = 5.7 both plants

** Run-off amounts were good to a little high, 20 – 30% depending on the plant

08/03/13 - 58 days since sprouting - Day 12 of 12/12 - (Day 05 of actual flowering)

Tasks & Observations:

- Raised the lights about 5 cm to compensate for the plants pushing the screen up a little (unfortunately I haven’t anything to tie the center down to but it isn’t too bad so far) and also to try and get them to stretch a little more to fill the screen holes

- Lowered the rH a little by about 5%

09/03/13 - 59 days since sprouting - Day 13 of 12/12 - (Day 06 of actual flowering)

Tasks & Observations:

- Removed a good number of lower fan leaves that were clearly not getting enough light anymore and/or were hindering airflow. The leaves on the Trainwrecks are feeling super healthy to the touch, like soft, supple silky paper. The SLH’s are feeling and looking healthier too since feeding them with a lower EC.

- Continued to train and filled in quite a few holes. The Trainwrecks are VERY time consuming to train properly but I believe the payoff will be well worth the time. Total time spent training and defoliating today = 2.5 hours – a pretty typical amount of time lately with them well into stretching.

- I counted the holes in the screen today. There are 136 holes per ½ of the screen so 272 in total. Right now there are about 25 holes left open on the TW side and 35 left open on the SLH side. I hope to fill at least half of the remaining holes. A full screen of course would be awesome. And just for fun let’s say I filled the screen, and got 4 g’s dry bud per hole..that would be 4 g x 272 holes = 1088 g’s. I have a goal of 250 g’s per plant, but already I can see that I am going to be pleased with the results even if I don’t make that.

Environment:

600W HPS Height: 45 cm directly below to 68 cm at edge of the canopy

LED light height: 45 cm

Temperature @ canopy- lights on: 26-28 °C

Temperature lights off: 21-22 °C

rH: 50-60%

Thanks everyone for visiting, and for the nice comments, they are appreciated and I let the plants know that they have admirers when I talk to them :) :)

@ Big G...when I read what you wrote I again looked at the picture and imagined it...gotta say thanks for that visual bro cause I totally got what you were seeing!! That would be something else..sorta like Alice in Ganjaland lol.

So I'm really impressed with the growth of the buds on both strains but what is amazing me right now is the SLH's are flowering quicker than the Trainwrecks..and the Trainwrecks seem to be flowering at a nice rate as well. Maybe the SLH's have a growth pattern that explodes with flower growth during the stretch? Or maybe I have been fortunate to get two very good specimens of the strain :) I would say they are definitely 2 different phenos with the SLH#1 wanting to stay much more bushy and compact, and she has a more skunky smell than SLH#2 which is very strong in the lemon smelll..so I am thinking SLH#1 is leaning towards the lemon skunk side possibly?

Peace!

Alright fellow green lovers, it is time for this weeks update! :)!!

I think you will agree from the pictures that this past week has been very productive. The past 24 - 48 hrs has seen a HUGE boost in resin production. The SLH's are living up to their reputation as quick and heavy trichome producers.

The week involved a bit of confusion for the plants thanks to mixing nutrients and watering while pretty friggin stoned :P I mixed the water/nutrients for both strains in two 20 L pails, I even colour coded them..orange pail - orange/yellow bag of Sativa Pfeed for the SLH's; and the white pail - white bag Hybrid PF for the Trainwrecks. SOMEHOW I still managed to mix them up :P Luckily I started by accidentally watering the Trainwrecks with the lower 1.2 EC Sativa feed solution instead of the other way around. An EC of 1.6 would have definitely burnt the SLH's. So, I diluted the EC of the Hybrid feed to 1.2 EC and fed it to the SLHazes :P If anything, it seemed they enjoyed the variety!! :) lol. So after that, the week was ended with a light flush of all 4 plants last night as it is about time and the run-off pH and EC's confirmed that.

Just for fun I've included a picture of my volcano chamber piece that tends to collect resin after a few days, this is about a weeks worth of vaping, I should clean 2 x per week for how often I use it but I just don't have the time. What is of particular interest is that this resin is ALL GHSC autoflower resin from the plants from my last grow. I've noticed the piece gets even more heavily coated than normal with the auto buds..a testament to how resinous GHS Auto bud gets :) .

Here's the weeks journal/diary..hope everyone has a thc filled week!!

PEACE

10/03/13

Watered SLH #1 & #2 each with 8 L each r/o +

Botanicare Cal Mag Plus (required w/ r/o water) @ 1.25 mL/L x 8 L = 10 mL EC: 0.53

DNF Carbo Logic @ 0.3 g/L x 8L = 2.4 g EC: 0

GHSC Sativa Powderfeed @ 0.45 g/L x 8 L = 3.6 g EC: 0.69

Total EC: 1.22 pH: 6.2 Temperature: 18°C

Run-off EC – SLH#1 = 1.78 SLH#2 = 1.82

Run-off pH – SLH#1 = 5.9 SLH#2 – 6.0

Watered TW #1 & TW#2 each with 8 L each r/o +

Botanicare Cal Mag Plus @ 1.25 mL/L x 8 L = 10 mL EC: 0.6

DNF Carbo Logic @ 0.3 g/L x 8 L = 2.4 g EC: 0

GHSC Hybrid Powderfeed @ 0.7 g/L x 8 L = 5.6 g EC: 1.05

Total EC: 1.67 pH: 6.2 Temperature: 18 °C

Run-off EC = 2.68 & 2.6 respectively

Run-off pH = 5.7 both plants

** The Trainwrecks need to be flushed in near future

11/03/2013

- Have started to tie down some of the bigger main branches in addition to the scrog training for two reasons. 1st it helps keep the screen from being pushed upwards, and 2nd, they tend to have very short distances between internodes with lots of budsites bunched together. Tying them down opens up the terminal area of the branch and bud-site to allow more light and air to the small branches helping them to grow bigger and out and away from the cluster.

12/03/2013

- Trichomes really starting to appear on the bud leaves

- Tied the screen down at multiple points along the perimeter to keep the plants from excessively pushing the screen upwards

13/03/2013 63 days since sprouting - Day 17 of 12/12 - (Day 10 of actual flowering)

- Wanted to flush the TW’s today but I didn’t have as much r/o water as I thought so I will have to flush next water

**mixed up the feeds..watered the TW with the SLH Sativa feed..luckily not the other way around. So, I diluted the TW Hybrid Pfeed to 1.22 Ec and fed it to the SLH’s. I doubt 1 watering with the others feed at lower ec will hurt them.

Watered SLH#1 & SLH#2 each with 8 L each r/o +

Botanicare Cal Mag Plus @ 1.25 mL/L x 16 L = 20 mL EC: 0.5

Advanced Nutrients Sensizym @ 1 mL/L x 16 L = 16 mL EC: 0.02

DNF Carbo Logic @ 0.3 g/L x 16 L = 4.8 g

GHSC Hybrid Powderfeed @ 0.6 g/L x 16 L = 9.6 g EC: 1.0

Potassium Silicate @ 0.10 mL/L x 16 L = 1.6 mL EC: 0.04

Total EC: ** diluted for SLH's to 1.2 EC by adding water pH: 6.2 Temperature: 18°C

Run-off EC = 1.7

Run-off pH = 5.8

Watered TW#1 & #2 each with 8 L each r/o + **mixed up feed!

Botanicare Cal Mag Plus (required w/ r/o water) @ 1.25 mL/L x 16 L = 20 mL EC: 0.5

Advanced Nutrients Sensizym @ 1 mL/L x 16 L = 16 mL EC: 0.02

DNF Carbo Logic @ 0.3 g/L x 16 L = 4.8 g

GHSC Sativa Powderfeed @ 0.4 g/L x 16 L = 6.4 g EC: 0.65

Potassium Silicate @ 0.10 mL/L x 16 L = 1.6 mL EC: 0.04

Total EC: 1.2 pH: 6.2 Temperature: 18°C

Run-off EC –2.4

Run-off pH – 5.6 – 5.7

14/03/2013 – Day 18 of 12/12

- tied down multiple branches, defoliated and removed a colander full of leaves (1/2 to full colander full most nights lately). Removed some very large lower fans from the SLH’s, they were still green but I want energy to be focussed towards the top of the canopy and the buds. As we are now 2.5 weeks into 12/12 and the stretch, the undergrowth has now been trimmed significantly to remove “dead weight” and focus energy on the upper leaves and bud sites and to improve airflow and also light penetration to lower buds sites.

15/03/13

- Noticed improved upper canopy growth with continued removal of:

- lower leaves

- any leaves showing signs of losing colour or becoming unhealthy

- leaves not getting enough light

- leaves blocking buds that can’t be tucked properly

- suckers and buds that have nowhere to go

– I’ve tried to remove any bud-sites below the 3rd to 4th flowering node (depending on the particular branch and location) that will not produce significant bud. I still sometimes find it difficult making the decision of what bud-sites to remove, but with every progressive grow I feel a little more confident. Once I am sure they have stopped stretching I will defoliate more concentrating on removing pretty much everything below the canopy.

- Temperature has been a little higher with lights on maxing out at 28 degrees C. That would mean average is probably about 27 degrees. I’m going to lower the thermostat on the small space heater a degree as I would like to keep temperature maxed at 27 and average 26 or so.

- Installed new ZEO™ CO2 producing pad – also, moved pads and hung them under the canopy and screen. Normally they say to hang them above the plants because CO2 is heavier than air and it will fall onto the plants. BUT, since I have an extraction fan in the tent, and it is not on a timer, and the air is drawn upwards from the bottom of the tent towards the carbon filter, the CO2 should be drawn upwards through the canopy.

** NOTE** Even though I don’t have the fan on a timer (which is generally optimal with CO2), the room in which the grow tent is situated is only about 2 x 3 meters big, so the CO2 is still able to be maintained in the overall area. I also have the old CO2 pads hanging all around the outer room to gain any residual effect from the pads.

16/03/13 – Day 20 of 12/12 – 2 weeks into full flowering

- Trichome production exploded in the past 24-48 hrs!

- Added some DNF Black (contains humic acid) to the flush. This will help recondition the soil and promote beneficial bacterial and fungal reproduction.

- ** Want to buy some leaf cleaner to clean the leaves and improve photosynthesis

Flushed TW#1 & TW#2 each with 18 L r/o +

Botanicare Cal Mag Plus @ 1.25 mL/L x 18 L = 22.5 mL EC: 0.52

DNF Black (Humic acid) @ 2.5 mL/L x 18 L = 45 mL EC: 0.01

GHSC Hybrid Powderfeed @ 0.4 g/L x 18 L = 7.2 g EC: 0.62 + 0.05 added to = 0.67

Total EC: 1.2 pH: 6.0 Temperature: 18°C

Run-off EC = 1.4-1.45 (dirty catch tray)

Run-off pH = 6.0

Flushed SLH#1 & SLH#2 each with 18 L r/o +

Botanicare Cal Mag Plus @ 1.25 mL/L x 18 L = 22.5 mL EC: 0.52

DNF Black (Humic acid) @ 2.5 mL/L x 18 L = 45 mL EC: 0.01

GHSC Sativa Powderfeed @ 0.35 g/L x 18 L = 6.3 g EC: 0.55

Total EC: 1.1 pH: 6.0 Temperature: 19°C

Run-off EC = 1.25 (cleaned the catch tray area where I collected the run-off)

Run-off pH = 6.0

** I’ve realized that my run-off EC numbers have been probably a little higher than they really are due to the residual salts in the run-off catch tray from previous waterings. Not by a huge number it seems, maybe 10% higher, but that is still significant. In the future I will try and be sure to clean the catch tray collection area before testing run-off.
